FAQ

Common questions

Does Deep Sky Spotter require my location?

No. Automatic location is optional. You can search for a place or enter coordinates manually. If you use automatic location, the app requests foreground location permission.

Where is my equipment and session data stored?

Your equipment profile, sky-brightness choice, filters, session plan, checklist and app preferences are stored locally on your device. The app currently does not upload your session plan or equipment profile to a Jehan Labs server.

How do I delete my local app data?

Use “Delete local app data” on the app’s About & Legal screen, clear the app’s storage through your device settings, or uninstall the app. Store purchase records are not deleted by the app’s local-data reset.

Can I rely on the weather forecast for safety decisions?

No. Weather data is provided for general informational and planning purposes only. Consult official meteorological services and relevant authorities when accuracy is critical.

How accurate is Pointing Assist?

Pointing Assist is a rough guide. It is not telescope alignment, a precision instrument, or a substitute for safe navigation.

How do subscriptions work?

Deep Sky Spotter Pro prices, billing periods, trials and renewal terms are shown by your app store before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your store account.

How do I contact support?

Support contact details are available in the app-store listing. A direct support email link can also be added here when the public support address is finalised.
